2009 Longacres South Towns Summer Series
There will be a Summer Series of horse shows organized by Longacres in 2009.
Because the following information may have been vaguely worded, some people have heard rumors that there will not be a 2009 Summer Series. There will be. Longacres already has requests from other stables to be included in the points series we'll be organizing. The 2009 Summer Series will look and feel much like this year's!!Return to Shows page
Longacres will be hosting four horse shows in the summer of 2009. We run so many horse shows not because we want to monopolize or take over all western New York shows. We do it because we have a very specialized business that accepts girls from all over the United States who want to come and take part in horse shows while they are with us. We need to offer them one home show and one "away show" during each two week segment.
This special need at Longacres has created occasional resentment at other stables when our shows conflict with dates they'd like for their own shows. It seems very likely that in 2009 there will be two horse shows on the same date one or more weekends, and there may also be more than one points series.
Competition is good - It's the American Way:
We at Longacres welcome the prospect of having another series of shows in western New York next summer. It will give riders more options, more different kinds of shows, and it will give stables wanting to host a show more than one choice of who to work with. Some stables may choose to be members of more than one points series.
It will make everyone try harder to put on good shows and be welcoming to exhibitors. That's the American way. Competition makes for better quality in goods and services.
Longacres expects to again work with several other stables to manage a points series that includes other stable's shows held between the Longacres show dates.
Longacres shows will be held every other week during the late June through early August period. Following are the dates for Longacres shows in 2009. Before you panic at any particular date, please note that the calendar for many large shows including the Erie County Fair and many PHA shows jumps a week back next year. There will be other Summer Series shows at nearby stables on the weekends between our Longacres shows. Locations to be announced.

August 15th, Saturday (Jumper Derby)
August 18th - 20th - Erie County Fair
