October 18 Update: Judging Nominations: In the interest of getting the most diverse possible panel of judges, we ask each participating squad to nominate two judges for our consideration. We will randomly choose a number of new judges from the names submitted by all participating squads. Also, in response to suggestions from last year, we will be adding a "degree of difficulty" scoring category to our judging score sheets this year. Keep the suggestions coming.

Sept. 3, 2003: Christmas Cheer will again be held at Tonawanda High School this year, all on one day, Sunday, Dec. 7th. ALL events will be held, as in the past, but on one day.

Many details will be announced in the coming weeks - check back here often.

Below we are keeping some of last year's info posted for your guidance, though there are many changes for this year.

December 10th Update:

Directions to Tonawanda High School:

150 Hinds Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150

Take #190 north from the Buffalo area towards the Grand Island Bridge. (If coming from the Marriott Hotel or Boulevard Mall area, take #290 west and then #190 north). Take the last exit before the Grand Island bridge (River Road). Turn right on River Road and go 2.1 miles to Hinds Street (Wilson Farms store on corner).

Turn right on Hinds Street. Go four blocks and turn right on Fletcher, just past the high school building. The parking lot is on Fletcher Street just past the school building, and the entrance for the competition is on the corner of the building facing that parking lot.

November 11th Update

Enter Mini Squad / Stunt Team Division!!

We have more interest every year in our Mini-Squad Division. This is open to groups of six or fewer cheerleaders. You do NOT have to be affiliated with a school group. Any group of six or fewer cheerleaders is eligable! Mini Squads compete in the same catagories as full squads. You may compete only Saturday doing cheers, only Sunday in cheer-dance, or both days for the Grand Championship. Full squads may break off six or fewer and double enter them as a mini squad. Call if you have questions!

New "Top Gun Tumbler" Trophies!

Just before we give out trophies at the end of each day, we will hold a ‘Top Gun Tumbler" flip-off. Anyone may enter - no additional fee, but it is only open to Cheerleaders taking part in the regular team or individual / partner events.

Individuals and Partners MUST Pre-register

Last year we allowed many individuals and partners to signup at the event. Took too much time! You must signup before the event to compete this year.

Age Groups for Ind. And partners: We will have three age groups for these events this year. Ages 10 and under; age 11 through 13; and age 14 and up.

Waivers & Insurance Certificates

We require a signed waiver form for all individuals or squads, and a copy of your insurance certificate if you are with a school or insured association. You can download the form from our website. You may make as many copies as you like - all signatures NO NOT have to be on one page. Click here for waiver form. Copy it and paste it into your word processor to print out.

UCA Bids: We're sorry we didn't have all the details on the weekend to officially authorize your Nationals Bids at the competition, but everything is cleared up now after a call with the UCA Director Monday morning. All of our Grand Champions are bid to register for one of the two UCA Nationals in Orlando in February or March. The Nationals for High School sponsored squads are in February, and for Little Loop or All-Star Squads are in March.

For the All-Star Nationals in March, your division is determined by the oldest member of your squad, and they are strict about that.

To arrange for a bid, phone me at 716-652-9495, and I have to e-mail your address to the Nationals Director, Bill Ahern. He will then send you all the registration materials for the tournament you want to attend. Thank you all for your patience about this!

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE CHRISTMAS CHEER 2001 GO SO WELL!
